Missing My Husband

It's been 6 months since the death of my beloved husband. We miss him a lot. Even though it is not easy, I have to accept whatever that has happened. I hope I and especially my 3 kids, will be able to go on with our lives. His was a good, loving and a responsible dad, husband..occasionally spoiling us with gifts & treats. He is the smart one in the family, always giving us quiz, talking to us about the latest tech news and he loves to talk about historical events. Although some topics are boring to us but I miss it so much. I miss his jokes, I miss the way he use to bully us.
Sometimes when we have no where to go, he would just drive us around in his precious Matrix car. We sing, joke and laugh a lot.
It seems so unfair...he was my friend, cousin, husband and I lost all that in a day. There isn't a day I do not think about him. I pray that God gives me and my children strength to go on.
Al-Fatihah to my husband. May Allah Taala bless his soul. Ameen.

Another Eid Gone By

We just celebrated Hari Raya and now Hari Raya Qurban just passed. The year 2007 just flew so quickly and in another 9 days, we say hello to 2008. Hope it's a good year, the world really needs more goodness in it.
Raya Qurban was so quiet this year. I cooked rendang, sayur lodeh and we had it with ketupat. My mother in-law cooked 'dam briyani' and it was so delicious.
On Raya Puasa, we went to M'sia. As usual we went on our 2nd day Eid ritual, where we visit our relatives, giving out 'duit Raya' and my kids receiving $$$. All i love about this is visiting my aunts and uncles, we see like once a year and of course trying out all the yummy cookies.

Be Thankful

Been away from my blog for some time...well this is not the first time though. Many things happened these past few months, nothing extra special. I'm just feeling thankful for the life that was given to me. However, i just can't forget about 'some' unspeakable incidents that has been happening in my hometown, KL. All i can do is pray that people who are creating nuisance will repent and change to a new leaf.

Be happy and be thankful for what we have, life is just too previous to waste it away on petty things.

A Very Upsetting News

I have been so disturbed about the news on Nurin Juzlin's brutal murder. Probably because she is so young only eight years old and the way she died. So gruesome and very sad. I keep imagining her suffering, crying and hoping someone would come to save her. She waited for a Month! Since she is dead now, praying everyday that the Beast will be caught soon and he suffers maximum punishment in Earth and in Jugdement Day! It's been soon long since i entered my blog. The holy Ramadan month is here again, can see the lack of energy in my kids faces. I planned to start baking cookies yesterday but just too lazy! By hook or by crook i have to do it today. I shall start with Cornflakes cookies then Hazelnut London cookies then Melting Moments then Coconut cookies then Sugee cookies, more other cookies if i have the time. I will post the pictures when i have done it. Good luck to ME.

I think our favourite cartoon character would always be SpongeBob SquarePants!! So it wasn't a surprise that Raziq wanted to see the SpongeBob show at the Singapore Expo. My hubby bought 2 tickets online for the 31 May show. I had time to be with my girls while Raziq was with his daddy. My girls and I went to Guardian Pharmacy warehouse at the Expo where they were having sale on every item. Bought some stuff there then we went to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, ordered a delicious slice of caramel cheesecake, a cranberry & cinnamon apple muffin and a house blend coffee.

I had time to read one of my favourite Chicken Soup book.

Haneesa was just too happy to have her favourite seaweed snack all to herself.

Two hours later, the show was over it was time to go back home. Met Raziq outside the hall...he looked a bit disappointed. Found out that the characters showed their human face which was not good, coz he wanted to see SpongeBob like how he is in the cartoon shows...and not a human face sticking on top of the yellow sponge. He did tell me it was fun, though. That's good.

PCF Telematch 2007

During the last day of school just before the start of the one month long school break, Raziq attended His kindergarden's Telematch held at Innova Junior Collage. It was a very, extremely hot day...well i must be greatful at least it was not raining. All of us came to cheer for him. His centre was the 'Blue Fish' team. He only managed to get consolation prize for th 2 games he played which was 'Bouncing Tigger' and 'Easter Egg'. I hoped he would not be disappointed that he did not get a medal as some of his friends did. However, during the parent and student game, we managed to obtain 3rd place, so we walked away with a bronze medal!

Mommy's Day

Sunday the 13th was Mother's Day. Called my mom in M'sia, then my mom-in-law, then sent out a bunch of sms not to mention e-greetings the day before. This year's mother's day was different, exhausting but a nice day for me. We left home early around 10am to Boarders. I told my kids and hubby not to get something that i don't need...i just wanted a book "Humor for a Mom's Heart" or "Chicken Soup for Every Mom's Soul". Unfortunately, we couldn't find it. Hanee, Raziq and my hubby found a book they liked and was queuing to pay when i came across a book that caught my eye, Azar Nafisi's, "Reading Lolita in Tehran". I grabbed the book and passed it to my hubby to pay for it. Read the first chapter and already loving it. We had lunch at McDonald's...not my favourite but it was alright. Then, we went to Lido to catch the "Spiderman 3" movie. My hubby told me it was a bad idea to watch with Raziq as he might get restless sitting down for 2 hours. I reassured him with a smile and said he will be fine as i really wanted to go to the cinema as it's been like ages since i last went. Let me go back and recall...the last movie was 'Happy Feet'! Okay, that was in 2006, not that long ago. My 3 kids finished 3/4 of the popcorn and the movie haven't even began yet! Just when the movie started the intro, Raziq said that there's a popcorn stuck in between his teeth and it's was painful. Can't see with the lights off so brought him to the washroom..thank God not outside the cinema room. He got that cleared. An hour later, he said he was hungry then he said was sleepy, so i made him sit with me. There was no stillness in this kid. This is nothing new to me, so accustom to it. He did laugh aloud during the funny moments of the movie and talked loudly to given his opinion abt the show. Then he said he needed to go to the toilet. KIDS! I could hear Haseena complaining abt Raz...ya like she was any different! I did enjoy the movie though not as much as the 1st and 2nd Spidey...with tears at the end. Haseen and Hanee had the same thought as me. They could have done a better script with more action and trills. Should have listened to my hubby and waited to watch "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" which will be on May 24.
We were back home by 3.30pm, had time to tidy and clean up my home and to flip open the first chapter of "Reading Lolita in Tehran". Stopped half way through chapter 2, to get ready to have dinner at Sakura, a Thai/Chinese Cuisine in North Point. My sis-in-law, Samsat, reserved a table for 15 at 8pm. We were there first then the rest followed. We realised we ordered too much..we had 'Tom Yam Soup", "Garupa Fish", "Sweet & Sour Fish" (my fav), "Kangkung Belacan", "Baby Squid"(not for me pls), "Prawn Fritters"(too oily), the girls had "Seafood Fried Rice" & "Chicken Fried Rice". There was good humor and laughter, a splendid time. The last time we had a similar meal together was last Mother's Day at the same place...we really needed this day.

Earth Day 2007

"Earth Day is the first completely international and universal holiday that the world has ever known. Every other holiday was tied to one place, or some political or special event. This Day is tied to Earth itself and to the place of Earth in the whole solar system". - Margaret Mead, comment from her presentation at the United Nations Earth Day Ceremony held on March 20, 1977.

How did Earth day came about?
"The story goes that Earth Day was conceived by Senator Gaylord Nelson after a trip he took to Santa Barbara right after that horrific oil spill off our coast in 1969. He was so outraged by what he saw that he went back to Washington and passed a bill designating April 22 as a national day to celebrate the earth." Then in January 1970 the Environmental Teach-In decided to call their one-off event held on April 22, Earth Day.

In Singapore, we had several events to celebrate Earth Day 2007. The National Environment Agency (NEA) together with the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and the major supermarkets launched the first Bring Your Own Bag Day (BYOBD) on 18 April 2007 which i feel is so looooong overdue.
This is nothing new to me. Sometimes i bring my own bag and if i forget to bring, i try to fit most of my groceries in one or two plastic bags and later reuse it to dispose my garbage. I became aware of recycling and minimizing electricity usage when i was in my aunt's place in Sydney, Australia 19 years ago. I also have a 2 hour video tape on ways to save energy given by my aunt. Knowing my mom, she is still keeping the video after 19 year! It surely be infested with fungus! Must ask my mom about this. Back to days in Sydney, my aunt uses a Big plastic bags when throwing rubbish instead of many small plastic bags. They use paper bags in supermarkets and of course for wet stuff we use plastic bags. Thankfully, technology is catching up with the need for a replacement for polythene bags. It was recently reported that supermarkets in Australia will introduce biodegradable bags made from tapioca starch in April 2003. These bags will look and feel like polythene bags but will decompose in three months. My aunt doesn't use bleach to clean toilets. Most ingredients in chemical cleaners (incl. laundry detergents) break down into harmless substances during treatment. Others, however, do not, threatening water quality or fish and other wildlife. When water-softening phosphates enter waterways, they act as a fertilizer, spawning overgrowth of algae. This overabundance of aquatic plant life eventually depletes the water's oxygen supply, killing off fish and other organisms.
My last note, we should choose our household product with ozone friendly, biodegradable labels to save our uniquely beautiful blue planet. We wouldn't have a home without our planet Earth. So we have to look after our planet to keep our home.

Stop Canada’s Annual Seal Massacre

The Canadian government permitted the slaughter of more than 330,000 harp seals. In 2006, at least 354,344 seals of which 98.5% of them not even three months old, some as young as 12 days old were clubbed or shot to death off Canada's East Coast. Veterinary reports indicate that many seals are skinned alive for their fur and able to feel pain. These animal are the victim of the fashion industry. I love animals especially cats and rabbits. Like hugging and touching their soft fur...but i don't want to WEAR them!
I opted not to embed a video clip of the gruesome massacre as it would be too much for people to bare. I for one stopped watching it half way 'coz it was too 'sick'. My Brother's Wedding

My brother, Khalid's wedding with Zarinah was on 24 & 25th December. We all had a great but busy period during the entire wedding preparation. I would like to share his wedding with sweet Zarinah. Can view the pictures here : The Nikah Pictures and The Wedding Reception Pictures.

The best part in weddings are, you get to meet people you have not seen in YEARS! At my brother's engagement in August i met my niece, Azizah who i did not recognize at all until my cousin introduced me to her daughter..taller then her. Azizah is 15 years old now, i met her when she was just a little girl. She resides in Ohio, US and am glad that my girls are keeping in touch with their cousin since they met at the engagement. During the nikah, i had a good chat with my cousin's wife, Sharifah whom i have not really 'talked', just a casual 'hi' is exchanged between us since they got married 5-6 years ago. Mine and my sister's girls were the flower girls at their wedding. My daughters were only 6 and 4 yrs old then. Glad that we got to know each other, she's a wonderful person, i made a new friend. Then i met a friend whom i have known since i was 18 when we worked in then 'United Asian Bank'. Wondering what's his connection with the bride's family. He told me he's the bride's uncle! Also met so many of my cousins with their so grown up kids, not to mention my uncles and aunties, who are now grandpa's and grandma's. Just had a thought..in about another 15 years time..in a wedding..i would be a' g......'?? Feelin' kinna ..'sad'.

It's all about hand phones again. Raziq has been insisting that i should buy his favourite hand phone, LG Chocolate KG800. First it was the LG Chocolate in black, then white, then pink. All looks so glossy and smooth.

In my opinion the new LG-KV6000 Black Label II is the ultimate svelte look for men. It gives a person a style look, even though they don't have 'it'.

MY personal favourite is...LG Chocolate Red Wine. The LG Chocolate Phone has won the 'DFA Grand Award' in Product Design category from the Design for Asia Award 2006 competition. This would be their 4th Award..not surprising. Had a good look at this handphone when i was in Sungai Wang Plaza in KL. Simply beautiful. It has it's pros and cons, design wise it's perfect.

Busy..Busy..Busy

Have not been updating my blog for months now! Kind of busy with several events...my brother's engagement in my home town, Selangor on 19th August. Then it was Haseena's PSLE examination, at the same time, all my 3 kids were down with flu and high fever. Raziq had a fall while dancing to 'Krrish' tune and hit his head, resulted in a cut at the back of the head, rushed him to KK Hospital at 12mn. I was been pessimistic but thank God it was a superficial wound. Then came the fasting month of Ramadan on 24th September, this also means the start of washing of the drapes, cleaning of the windows and every inch of the house. I also sewed new drapes, baked cookies..managed to bake only 4 kinds of cookies, shopped for new cloths, etc..etc... The end definitely justifies the means...one most happy moment for a mom is...i was glad my 2 girls managed to complete the 30 days fasting again. Then came Childrens Day on 1st October. Then it was the 'Eid' celebration on 24th October. Had 'Eid' cum Raziq's birthday party on 25th October at home. After all these celebration, i coached Haneesa for her final examination for Primary 4. Glad that she did well.
Oh ya! i turned 40 on 29th September...not 40 eeer 20+ (like real!) Honestly, truly, don't feel 40! Anyway, how does 40 feels...the same as 30+ just more wiser. Had a hearty dinner at Swensen's with hubby and kids. Ironically, a waiter from Swensen's was singing 'Happy Birthday' song while carrying a cake..it was for a lady(mom) sitting beside our table. It was her birthday too!

Singapore's 41st National Day Parade

Went for an outing on the 12th August, we ended up getting stuck in a horrible jam because of the fireworks show for S'pore's Fireworks Festival 2006 at Marina Bay. We were along St Andrew's Rd, all the cars stopped and practically parked their car and got down. We had no choice but to get down from our car and join the crowd waiting for the colourful firework to go on from 9pm to 9.15pm. We did enjoy it though as the fireworks was spectacular. Then we went to Mustafa Centre to shop, by the time we got home it was midnight.

Fur Ball Creature That's Cute - CATS

We had this particular cat for just a day and all of us can't forget him. I was just ending my daily early morning prayers when i heard it's meowing. I opened my front door slowly and it's paw was pushing and trying to come in. It's has this adorable cute look. Somehow it manage to come up all the way to the 6th floor. Surprisingly, my hubby suggest that i keep it for a day before he went off to work. It is so friendly and playful with kids. I fed him rice with meat then he had a long sleep in Raziq's room. Raziq named him Oobi, Haseena named him Whitey, my hubby named him Roo short for Ronaldinho and Haneesa...she is not at all comfortable with cats. At the end of the day, my hubby thought it is better we do not keep the cat and lured it downstairs on the way to the shop, hopefully it will find it's owner. Twice it jumped out of my hubby's grip and ran back into the house. So i kept a tight hold of it and brought downstairs. It followed us all the way until we reach the road. After we walked back from the shop, we did not see it. Sad...

There was this other cat that came into our previous home. It's a mix Persian cat. It's definitely a lost cat. I let it play around my house for a while then i brought it downstairs, hope it would find it's way home. More pictures of cats...

Creativity from stockings

I went to buy some items in Guardian Pharmacy at Causeway Point, after that, I stopped by at a flower making store. There was already quite a number of mainly housewives busy twisting and turning the wires making beautiful flowers. Looked fairly easy and interesting. I just have to buy the items there and they (a couple) will teach me how to make which ever flowers i wish to learn from the samples displayed. I have done the butterflies, small flowers and orchids. Pretty ya?

My latest work which i did today is the pink rose. I intend to go again to learn to make bees. Their last day in Causeway Point will be on 19th of July!

June Holidays

It's been more than a month since I posted my last entry. Went to Selangor, M'sia during the Singapore's June school holidays. There was this horrible jam at Tuas checkpoint and was damn HOT. Took us 1 1/2 hours just to clear our passport checking. Then there was this incident at the toll..not gonna talk about it. Another horrifying jam along Seremban. All in it took us 8 hours to reach my mom's place in P.J. The next day, we went to Sungai Buloh to see my future sister-in-law. Zarina is her name. Such a sweet and shy girl. Then there was this mishap about coffee (a whole cup) spill on my brother, Khalid's shirt (the groom)..not gonna talk about it cause it's partly my fault. Raziq was restless..must be the yesterday's trip and the trip to Sg Buloh. I wanted my girls to follow us to Sg. Buloh but since my sister's girls did not go, they skipped.
Stayed at my sister's place in Tmn Sri Gombak for 3 days. My sis took us to the club's bowling alley. We were suppose to play only 1 game but the adults (4 of us) played 3 games while our 4 girls played 2 games. It was so fun! Raziq is so crazy over the World Cup 2006 thingy, that when he saw a big chart of the countries flag and FIFA logo, he asked me to take a picture of it. The next day, went shopping at Jaya Jusco and i ended up buying 4 pairs of shoes! (not planned). My girls bought some cloths and shoes too (as planned).
We decided to drive back early in the morning to Singapore to avoid the jam in Seremban but it was a smooth ride back home. It took like forever to unpack as i brought back some of my old paper works and 'other' personal stuff which i left at my mom's place. Feeling of sadness came to me as i was clearing my wardrobe which will be broken down to give way to a new bedroom set for my brother and his future bride as it will be their room. His old room is just full of his stuff that it is impossible to clear. Their 'nikah' will be on 24th December 2006 and the next day will be the reception. All of us will be busy on that month and we will be going there for 2 weeks.

Walk The World 2006

Happy Mommy's Day

This year's Mother's Day for me was calm and nice. So unlike the past years! My daughter, Haneesa surprised me with breakfast in bed! Two toast bread with a glass of milk, just the way I like. I was also given hand made cards from Haseena and Haneesa. Around 11.30am, we went to my mother-in-law's place, we ate and chatted. All the rest of the family came by and there were more chatting, laughing and loud screaming from my kids and nieces. All in it was a beautiful day with no stress and strain on my nerves. I wish I could hug and wish my mom "Happy Mother's Day" in person but since she's far away I have to settle with calling her to wish instead.

I received a humorous e-card from my dear friend, Jennifer about a mom wears many hats...a mom is a teacher, a nurse, a guide, a chef, a mentor, etc... In that Day Spring web site, I found these beautiful poems for Mother's Day which I would like to share with all of you.

Nokia phone with a Twist

Phone makers are coming up with more new and trendy phones. This Nokia 3250 is a music smartphone with a twist-and-lock keypad. It comes in 4 colors. They certainly know what customers want: something cool, slick and beautiful to look at and feel. My 2nd girl, Haneesa is happy with her Samsung E530C. My elder girl, Haseena is the only one in the family who is holding on to an old Nokia hp.6610. It was mine actually, several years ago, passed on to her. She is a faithful Nokia user. She was aiming for a Nokia 3G phone...costly. Then she was captivated by Nokia's, The L'Amour Collection, 7series, i was too. Now, she wants a music phone and has a eye on the Sony Ericsson W810i but it's not a Nokia phone. This Nokia 3250 phone has 8MB of internal memory and if you plug in a 1GB microSD card, you can load up to 750 songs! Loading songs into the phone is a breeze, just have to drag and drop songs into the handset using the Nokia Audio Manager software. This phone is just the thing for music seekers. Haseena does not know about this phone yet. Anyways, the recommended price without a contract is $708.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. Searching for a Subaru WRX STI

We try to make a point to go out during the weekends. One Sunday, the girls and I know what's coming to us. My son, Raziq,4, was down for the past couple of weeks because of his toy car (Subaru) back tyre does not move and he wants a replacement for it. We bought it like..2 years back! Looked in toy shops around Woodlands a few weeks back but could not find any. So, we decided to go town one Sunday. Left at 11.30am, first went to Marina Square (took this beautiful pic. more posted in Flickr.com), no luck, then we went to Paragon, Orchard Road, saw this 6 year old talented boy playing drums (his website).Then walked to Wisma Atria then to Lucky Plaza. While we were walking along Orchard Road, there was this guy and a gal distributing magazine and handed one to me. It's the March issue of "Style". Only 10% with article, the rest pictures! My most favorite eVeR magazine is still "The WoMen's WeeKly"! Back to the story.. none of the toy outlets sold that toy car which i think cost only S$7/-. There were many other 'Subaru' toy cars with remote control, etc but he wasn't to trill about it. Told him to forget about finding 'the' car. Had to think of something...since he likes 'signs' (signs on his room door), I sugguested we go to Popular book store at Yishun as the 'Subaru' story is out. He was absolutely tRiLLed! he found the 'signs' and it's now pasted on his room door. While Raziq was busy with his new stuff, my hubby took some tools and manage to make his toy 'Subaru' car to work!! It was a double joy for Raz. His dad should have tried fixing it in the beginning of this ePiSoDe!!!

One morning, while reading the newspaper, I came across 5 colorful choices of this Dopod 818 pro(HTC Prophet)a PDA phone. The lavender Dopod looked so sweeeet. I didn't want to own it but my hubby suggested that I sell off my Samsung phone and my Palm Zire and just get a PDA phone. Went through the internet, reading about this PDA phone, good reviews. So, on New Year's eve, we went to HN to purchase it. The lavender looked so much like silver, i got the pink instead! It comes with 2 MegaPixel Digi Cam, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS, Office applications, etc.. For me, besides sms, I keep all my contact list, my appointments, my tasks, use the alarm as reminder, use the camera and play Bejeweled2 game. All in ONE, very handy.

~CARVEN~ A beautiful timepiece...apparently my hubby has been looking for this wrist watch for me for the pass 8 months! It is not available here but he found a way to buy it. He gave it to me on 13th of February 2006. Made me remember this date..14 years ago...Thanks dear...

A Date with a School

Last Saturday morning, I woke up early, did 1/3 of the house chores and got ready to go to my girls' school, The Woodgrove Primary, which is about 6 - 8 minutes walk (thank God for that). Felt nice going out on my own even though it's just to hear the principal talk and talk about the school,etc. I was lucky as my son, 4, said "okay ma I will stay with big 'kakak' and small 'kakak' ". I prepared milk and a toast bread for him before leaving. Hani told the briefing ends at 9.30am, so I should be back ard 9.45am. The briefing is on students taken PSLE exams this year. It was held at the school hall. It was a big crowd as primary 5 parents was asked to attend the talk too. I remembered to lower my hp volume. The principal started of with introducing the teachers from P1 - P6, then the aim of the school, the orientation period, the foundation of the school...the time was already 9.15 and she still did not start on the PSLE topic yet! 5 minutes later, she talked abt the aggregate score for PSLE and how to chose the secondary school. She mentioned that last year the school's top PSLE student was a Malay student named Iqbal now in Raffles Institution. He obtained an agg. of 272. He is also the top 6th Malay student in National level. I know the family, such nice people. His mom told me that he worked really hard to get the score. I didn't realise I was in deep thought, maybe for a minute and yes this was during the principal's talk, I could hear faint sound of music..I thought I was just hearing it in my head, then I remembered, it's my hand phone! I excused myself, went to the back of the hall to answer the call. I could see 2 missed calls. It was Haseena, simply telling me that it was 9.40am. I told her to wait as the briefing was still going on! After the briefing, the parents were to have an interaction time with the respective teachers. Most of the parents moved back of the hall. Then I saw my friend Jane and hubby, we talked, then a lady grabbed me from behind. She said 'hi' to me and Jane. For a while I was wondering who this person was, it was Caroline! She rebonded her hair so she looked different. Then Nadra came by with her 2 yr old son, the 4 of us talked for abt 5 minutes. Then, they went to the classrooms while I head home. It was nice talking to them as some of us have not seen each other for months even though we stay just a block away from each other. Oh well...now I have another date...a date with my kitchen...time to cook.

We are in the LOST mania zone. Come Friday, the whole family will be set to watch the latest episode of 'LOST' from season 2. We have the Season 1 of 'LOST' on DVD. Since we miss the first few episodes of 'LOST', my hubby ordered the DVD from US...waited for it to be delivered to our home. When it did not arrive on that particular week, we waiting for a few more days. Still did not arrive! My hubby said "I'm certain now, my 'LOST' dvd is lost!! I told him to wait a couple of days more. The next day, 'IT' arrived! This happened during the fasting month last year. The clock was ticking 11pm, we have to sleep as we have to be awake by 4.15am to eat. We decided to watch the 1st episode of 'LOST'. We ended up watch 1 disc with 4 episodes! It ended around 4+, we ate and sleep at 5+am. Thankfully it was during the school holidays.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, since the coming off a Golden Globe win for Best Drama, the cast members of Lost were recently awarded an even bigger prize: a raise. The original cast members are now raking in nearly $80,000 an episode—a bump from the $20,000-$40,000 they had been earning. While it may seem appropriate that the cast members receive similar paychecks a la the cast of Friends, Matthew Fox still outearns the rest of his cohorts. His paycheck included a bonus $250,000. Did you know that our favourite, Sawyer (Josh Holloway), is married to a Yessica Kumula who is from Jakarta, Indonesia? He was a model prior to acting and his first job was picking up dead chicken in a farm! With bird flu almost everywhere, we need him to do his first job..mmmm...think not, need him in 'LOST'. I have always liked Jack (Matthew Fox) since he acted in 'Party of Five'. I never really like Naveen Andrews but after his acting in 'LOST', he seems okay 'coz his acting is really good btw his full name is Naveen William Sidney Andrews and he has this 'thing' about older women. He is married to Barbara Hersley who is 21 years his senior!
My second daughter is a great fan of 'LOST' and she has created a blog just for it.

I manage to catch the Grammy Awards on TV at 11.30am. It was broadcast at 9.30am till 12.30noon but i totally forgot about it. However, i got to see the parts which i wanted to know, that is to whom the Record, Album, Song of the year awards goes too. I was glad that U2 won most of the awards as i didn't want Mariah Carey to have that pleasure of obtained the most awards. Feel kinna bad saying it but that's how i feel. Here are the list of the awards :

Flowers

Whenever i see flowers, i feel a sense of happiness and calmness. Did not know there is something magical in flowers, nature's wonders until i read this : According to a recent Rutgers University study, ''Flowers are nature's equivalent of a hot bubble bath or a visit from a good friend.'' Research has found that flowers put a smile on 100% of recipients' faces. No one knows why, but flowers reduce stress levels, decrease sadness, depression and anxiety, and give people a greater sense of well-being!
My favourite flowers are white daisies, pansies, tulips and roses. However, i would rather see these beautiful flowers in the garden then receiving them as they will last longer. Well...i don't mind receiving them once a year :) My hubby gave me beautiful blue roses on my 38th birthday and those roses lasted for 2 whole weeks!

Each year there are 21 names set aside to name the storms. In 1954, female names are used, then in 1979, both women and men's names were used (running out of female names). Each region has their own set of names. These names are repeated after every 6 years but did you know that there are also retired names? Names are "retired" if a hurricane has been really big and destructive. It will never be used again.
What if a hurricane is heading towards us from the south?? Come to think of it, up north we have Malaysia as a shield for our small island but at the south east...we do have some islands...we are basically open...

Wow...it's been nearly 3 weeks since i last wrote here. So many things has happened..went to KL on the 6th of August, meet my mom, my dad and my sis family. Was really nice except for the haze. I usually like to open the front door of my parents home at around 7 in the morning to pick up the newspaper from the front pouch. The smell of fresh early morning air was what i was looked forward too but not this time :( It was bad there and did not like to be greeted by smokey smell in the early mornings. Did some grocery shopping at Giant and bought a bike for my 3 1/2 year old son. It only cost us RM39. He loved it. In fact, when we were shopping around the big shopping space in Giant, he followed us by riding his 'unpaid' bike. Thank God! save me from carrying him! But after about 20 minutes i ended up dragging the bike as he got tried cycling it! Can't depend on his sisters' as they got fed up dragging the bike around for him.

Cross stitiching - there's no stopping me

These are the 2 cross-stitich i have done so far. The first cross stitch took about 6 months to complete. During that time i just gave birth to my 2nd daughter..so that's why it took so long. The 2nd picture took about 3 months to complete. Hope to do more...soon i hope.

I have been dreading this for the past week. I went inside this room reluctantly thinking whether i should do it now or later, now or later or maybe tomorrow. Thought tomorrowla.. took off my clothes, then thought again...mmm..it's now or never. I have been putting this off for the past few days and i can't stand being here. So i shall do it today, right now! I put on my pajamas again and rushed to the kitchen to take my 'tools'.. strong cif spray with bleach and rushed back to the washroom and started spraying all over the tiles. i brushed and brushed until it sparkled. I took abt 35 minutes to clean it and i have done it. It felt gooood...

Yesterday, my hubby told me about this 'XieX..' blog being hacked or cracked. So i opened up my ibook to see but keep typing out wrongly coz i don't know how to spell her blog name! The last time i saw her blog was like two weeks ago.. The first time i read her blog ..like.. a year ago ... i did not like it, so if i dislike her blog naturally i dislike her for her character. i thought 'what goes around comes around'. i hope my daughters don't come across her horrid blog which is filled with lots of 'f' and 'b' and all the foul words that comes across her month. Wonder why and how 'these' foul words juz flows so easily like saying 'Hello' and 'Bye'. It's like her Signature - maybe she is afraid that without 'those' words no one will find her blog appealing especially to the guys. Don't know what's wrong with these young girls (another girl, SPG)..they feel they need to write about SEX like a pro. very degradingla. I have come across other blogs which are so refreshing to read.
One thing for sure, a blog is a journal of a person and they can say whatever they want into it but it is made public so it is more commercialised and not personal. She knows hundreds of people are reading her blog so she should be more careful in what she puts into her blog. I hope she writes her 'dreadful thoughts' into her personal dairy, stored in her safe. Anyways, i'm sure she would somehow have her so called 'blog' up and running in a day or two from the google archives.
i can imagine how her heart felt pain and screaming inside when she found out she can't see her blog which she had for 3 years! must have been dreadful. sad actually... i really hope she gets her blog up but hope she meadows down for her own sake.
Anyways.. therez juz 2 much drama abt this..

Commit Suicide

Last Saturday around 9.30pm, I noticed there were 2 fire engines on the opposite side of my block. Did not take much thought about it until about 10.50pm when i brought my son to bed, my hubby said he will going down to check out whatz happening. By then, 5 police cars and another fire engine has arrived. Ten minutes later, my hubby called me and said that someone from the 10th floor at Blk 523 is sitting on the window ledge wanting to jump. So all of us went downstairs, all 3 kids, to see the commotion. It was too crowded with local residence trying to see the person obviously with some problem which can't be solved. The policeman avoided us from coming close to the taped area and i thought we better move away. My hubby went up to the carpark building as they can see the action more clearly. Already there were around 20 to 30 odd ppl up the carpark. We were already at our Blk 526, when i heard ppl clapping their hands. Two civil defence guys came down from the roof top on a rope and pushed the girl back to the room. She has been saved. Thanks to the S'pore Civil Defence rescue team. I found out later from my 2nd daughter (her classmate stays on the same flr) that the troubled person is only 15 years old! So young and already willing to commit suicide! What drove her to That? i don't know but they were most likely to be relationship problems, stress in school, boy-girl problems and drugs? Can't help but feel sad for her.

Life of a housewife is just doing the same old stuff and cooking up variation in dishes for the day and most frequently the unpleasant outburst of the little human beings that "I" have created with the help of another human. Anyways, they are 'gifts' from God and life would be boring without them...but sometimes aaarrrrgggh! can hear them arguing now!!
